In the 15th-17th centuries manorial cavalry was a base of the Russian army. Service in manorial cavalry was lifelong and hereditary. After receiving of allotment Lord of manor had to arm in the proper way for profits from that allotment. From every 100 acres of plough one warrior was to be provided with a horse (in case of long march two horses), armour, weapon and enough quantity of foods and forage.
