Oyodo (Only ship in this class of light cruiser) was 630 feet in length, with a beam of 51.5 feet, and draft of 19.5 feet, and was capable of 35 knots. Propulsion was by 6 Kampon boilers driving four sets of steam turbine engines. The ship was armored with a 60 mm side belt, and 30 mm armored deck.
Oyodo’s main battery was six 15.5cm 3rd Year Type naval guns, mounted in two triple turrets forward of the superstructure. The Oyodo-class ships were intended to be scouting cruisers and hence the entire deck of the ship aft of the superstructure was devoted to aircraft facilities.
Floatplanes are not included in this kit.
