Uniform

The Type 98 uniform with stand and fall collar was introduced in 1938, and standard dress in the Second Sini-Japanes and Pacific Wars. Officers used their own sword, leading to various lengths, shapes, tsuba hand guards and so on. Some used leather-covered scabbards, while others bound the grip in cloth. Privately-owned pistols were often carried.
