| At the time of its creation, the KV-1, in all its 45 tons, was a formidable tank, certainly comparable to its best rivals. By 1942 it was no longer invincible, but its production was not interrupted: its strength was improved with progressive additions of armor to resist the large numbers of 50 and 75 mm guns the Germans were fielding. However, model 1942 (KV-1C) was not particularly loved by operators. |
