The Sd.Kfz.161, more commonly referred to as the Panzer IV, was the most widely produced German tank of WWII, with 8,500 produced from 1936-45. One of the later variants was the Panzer IV Ausf.H - it commenced production in April 1943 and a total of 3,013 vehicles were completed. It was one of the most important panzers of WWII. Dragon Armor’s new Panzer IV Ausf.H is a veritable work of art, and it will be an invaluable addition to Dragon Armor ’s family. What made the Ausf.H distinctive? Perhaps most obvious is the installation of 5mm-thick steel side skirts and turret skirts on the tank. Glacis armor was thickened to 80mm too. All the extra armor caused the weight of the Ausf.H to jump to 25 tonnes.
