No 2 Aircraft  51st Squadron JMSDF

The Sikorsky SF-60J Seahawk is the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force's new generation replacement for the HSS-2 Sea King, currently still in service. The SH-60J utilizes the SH-60B multi-purpose helicopter air frame currently in service with the United States Navy. Its anti-submarine warfare tactical equipment is Japanese made, developed especially for Japanese anti-submarine warfare tactics. When compared with the HSS-2, it is a full size smaller, and the crew reduced from 4 to 3. The aircraft is expected to be supplied to the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force beginning in 1991 as a ship borne anti-submarine warfare aircraft.
