Orange Box continues the exciting rush of well-priced items in its 1/35 scale range of plastic kits. The latest pairing sees an Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.C halftrack accompanied by a set of German infantrymen. The armored Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251 is probably the most famous and recognizable of the halftrack designs that Germany used in WWII. It was designed to transport a squad of panzer grenadiers around the battlefield, but the versatile design was used for a multitude of other purposes too. Production of the Sd.Kfz.251 eventually reached 15,252 units. The Sd.Kfz.251/1 was the standard personnel carrier version mounting a 7.92mm machine gun, and this is the variant included in Orange Box’s release. The kit represents an Ausf.C vehicle, which was produced from mid-1940 until it was replaced by the easier-to-make Ausf.D.
It has been some time since this particular Dragon Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.C has been available. But now it has been reborn & it’s more attractive than ever! The halftrack is accompanied by a dramatically posed set of German infantrymen from Master Box. The four German infantry figures are depicted in the midst of a firefight, and they make an exciting diorama possibility straight from the box. This new fusion of Dragon and Master Box gives modelers something refreshing and inspirational to work with in this budget-priced Orange Box item!
