The new set includes an Sd.Kfz.251/6 Ausf.C Command Vehicle along with four suitable German figures. This particular halftrack variant of the famous Sd.Kfz.251 was a dedicated Command Vehicle whose production ceased in 1943. It contained various FuG radios depending on the exact vehicle. It’s the radio antennas, including a frame antenna and star antenna, which quickly allow identification of this halftrack type. Notably, the vehicle kit includes a complete interior, allowing modelers free rein in adding internal clutter to bring the open-topped vehicle to life. The second half of this Orange Box set is a fine series of four German officers from Dragon’s 1/35 scale German Command Staff figure set. Rather than being armed with rifles and machine guns, these figures carry items such as maps and scissors binoculars they need to perform their duties. This quartet of sharply sculpted figures thus perfectly matches the command halftrack. When put together, the German vehicle and soldiers create an instant diorama scene straight from the box.
