The Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk is the U.S. Navy’s version of the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. This twin-engine, multi-mission helicopter operates from naval vessels, with the SH-60F Oceanhawk being a carrier-based version of the SH-60B. It is the primary antisubmarine warfare (ASW) and search and rescue helicopter of carrier groups. It hunts enemy submarines with the AQS-13F dipping sonar, as well as its armament of Mk-46 torpedoes and cabin-mounted machine guns.
Dragon’s new 1:144 scale twin-pack contains an SH-60F as well as another SH-60 variant employed to carry VIPs. These much-anticipated helicopter kits possess newly tooled radar altimeter antennas mounted in nose fairings. The SH-60F is flown by Helicopter Antisubmarine (HS) squadrons, and high-quality Cartograf decals provide markings for HS-14 “Chargers”. These markings are extremely eye-catching and provide the ideal finish to these impeccably engineered model helicopters. The VIP helo includes markings for the 7th Fleet Command, which is based at Yokosuka in Japan. These new helicopters will take on a VIP status asset in any model collection! |
