Another exciting rendition of B-1B Lancer is set to join the Dragon Warbirds fleet. The B-1 Lancer bomber is the US Air Force’s only serving variable-sweep wing aircraft. The futuristic design was conceived to create a long-range, low-level, supersonic penetrator bomber that could deliver nuclear weapons. Built by Rockwell, the B-1B Lancer appeared in 1986, and it has since been converted to carry out conventional bomber missions. Today a total of 67 “Bones” (the name is taken from its designation B-One) remain in service with the USAF.
