In the midwinter of 1728, the northern reaches of Naggaroth were invaded by a huge army of Chaos-worshipping barbarians… Malekith personally saw to the destruction of the interlopers… To ensure the northern tribes were punished for their insolence, Malekith then commanded the Beastmasters of nearby Karond Kar to launch a counter-invasion deep into the homelands of those who dared sully Dark Elf soil with their presence. –Warhammer, “Blood on the Snow”
The Dark Elves have enslaved nearly half of 60 new cards of City of Winter (3 copies each of 20 different cards), making this Battle Pack an excellent early step for players looking to unleash the Dark Elves’ fury upon their foes.
The Dark Elves love to disrupt their opponents’ plans. They discard cards, steal resources, drop units’ hit points, and even seize control of their opponents’ cards. City of Winter bolsters these strategies with powerful new units, locations, and tactics. The Dark Elves gain a new Hero who can destroy developments or Fortifications when he attacks, a powerful Fortification in the form of the Harpy Aerie (City of Winter, 93), and a Capital Center that reflects their sheer hatred of their foes.
As the Dark Elves launch their assaults from the City of Winter, the forces of Order gain new strength with which to defend themselves, and each of the Old World’s races gains a powerful, recurring tactic, which can lead to stronger and stronger strategies as the battles progress.
The time has come for hatred without end as the Dark Elves unleash the malicious new schemes they hatched behind the vast walls of Naggarond, the Tower of Cold. Cruel and cold-hearted, the Dark Elves march out of the City of Winter, seeking nothing less than dominion over the whole of the Old World.
